My name is Angela Cordy, Founder and CEO of  VIVO HARMONY™ and this story is dedicated to all wellbeing seekers, those who are in the process of healing from bad dental experiences, to their families and communities. It's my hope that you find some inspiration here.

Opening up about my past used to be difficult. Now as a mom, having my daughter has not only inspired me, but also given me the courage to share my story with the hope that my experiences can help others avoid the dental and overall health struggles I endured. When I was a child, I had cavities in my molars, and it was quite a traumatic experience that stayed with me from childhood through my teenage years. Even at that young age, I was determined to uncover why it happened to me. That determination eventually led me to pursue a career as a dentist in my home country of Colombia.

During my college years, I did a research thesis conducted alongside two dental colleagues. We delved into the movement of pharmaceutical substances through transepithelial routes, specifically focusing on the Buccal Mucosa (the inner lining of the cheeks). We found this avenue offers significant advantages in terms of permeability, allowing pharmaceutical substances to be absorbed and transported more efficiently to the bloodstream compared to the gastrointestinal route (oral ingestion). To simplify, our cheeks' inner lining can swiftly absorb and transport pharmaceutical substances, including potentially harmful ones found in dental and pharmaceutical products. Meaning these toxins are entering the bloodstream at a faster rate than oral ingestion. Consider toothpaste, for example; some varieties contain a high load of toxic components. When these toothpastes make contact with our oral mucosa, they can expedite the delivery of these harmful ingredients into our bloodstream, potentially causing harm to vital organs such as the kidneys, liver, and pancreas.

With the passing of time...

My perspective shifted towards a proactive approach to health. I began to incorporate products with natural ingredients and embrace responsible personal care habits while eliminating all chemical-based personal and household products. Through my own experiences and research, I've come to understand that chemical components present in medications, processed foods, and personal care items containing ingredients such as tetracyclines and phenols, among others, have detrimental effects on our overall health.

During my years of thesis work at dental school, I underwent a significant awakening. It prompted me to transform my dietary habits, shifting towards a more natural diet rich in fruits and vegetables, while leaving processed foods behind. This period of change illuminated the effectiveness of natural approaches in disease prevention. Remarkably, I succeeded in reversing conditions like periodontal diseases (gingivitis), eczema, and anxiety within my body.

The final year of my college journey played a crucial role in cementing my belief in the advantages of embracing natural approaches to well-being. It was during this time that I had the privilege of meeting someone who exemplified a positive life through natural self-care practices. This special person eventually became my husband, and today, we are proud parents of a daughter.

Observing our daughter's growth

I was determined not to let her go through the same dental issues I experienced. So, from the moment her first teeth emerged, I started using natural toothpaste for her, and she currently enjoys a cavity-free mouth. Witnessing her excellent oral health served as the inspiration to develop a toxic-free dental toothpaste, and thus, Vivo Harmony™ Toothpaste was born. It caters to individuals who want to enhance their oral health awareness and understand the direct links between toxins in personal care products and conditions such as cancer, diabetes, thyroid disease, and more.

She's a dedicated wife and a loving mother to her daughter. Angela is a Dentist with Colombian credentials that thoughtfully dedicates herself to create innovative personal care products designed to nurture, soothe, revitalize, and restore both the body and spirit. She's also a dedicated yoga enthusiast, hiker,  a passionate advocate for plant-based lifestyle, and a steadfast proponent of preventive dental care.

Exposure - Evaluating ingredient safety critically hinges on understanding both the "how" and "how much" of exposure.

Susceptibility - Sensitivity varies among individuals, with some, especially infants, being more susceptible to chemicals than others. It's important to consider these differences in susceptibility.

Final formulation - The way chemicals interact is crucial. Sometimes, an ingredient that's harmful on its own can become harmless when combined with others, while certain ingredients, safe individually, can become hazardous when mixed.

    Potassium Chloride (Mineral Origin):

    Potassium chloride, derived from mineral sources, It’s a solution that reduces pain and sensitivity and plays a role in the toothpaste's composition. 

    Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf Extract Powder:

    Is a natural sweetener derived from the leaves of the Stevia plant.     Monk Fruit Powder (Natural Antioxidant Sweetener):

    Monk fruit powder is derived from the monk fruit, a small, green gourd native to southern China. Monk fruit powder serves as a natural antioxidant sweetener, contributing to the toothpaste's flavor profile and providing sweetness without the use of artificial sweeteners. Considered safe for people with diabetes, as they have minimal effects on blood sugar levels.

    Sarcosyl (Vegetable Origin, Derived from Coconuts):

    Plays a role in the formulation of toothpaste, contributing to its texture, cleansing properties that aid in removing food particles, plaque, and debris from the teeth and gums. This contributes to the overall cleaning efficacy of the toothpaste.

    Probiotics:

    Probiotics have a crucial role in nurturing a healthier oral environment. They eliminate harmful bacteria and replace decay- and disease-causing microbes by replenishing the oral microbiome with beneficial bacteria. This, in turn, supports dental, immune, and upper respiratory health while effectively outcompeting the harmful bacteria responsible for conditions like bad breath, cavities, and periodontal disease.

    =Streptococcus salivarius K12: This probiotic strain is known to produce bacteriocin-like inhibitory substances, which can help inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria in the mouth. It may support oral health by reducing the risk of infections and promoting fresher breath.

    =Lactobacillus: Certain strains of Lactobacillus have been considered for their potential to restore a balanced oral microbiome and reduce the risk of conditions like dental caries (cavities) and gum disease.

    NATURAL:

    A completed natural product is composed of at least 95% natural components in the overall formulation. The non-aqueous part comprises a minimum of 50% bio-based substances, which can be derived from animals, plants, microorganisms, or acceptable mineral sources.

    Natural ingredients encompass water, minerals, plants, and animal materials, all processed minimally to retain their authentic, natural state.

    Ingredients labeled as "Naturally Derived" originate from plants, minerals, microbes, or animals, offering potential performance enhancements.

    CRUELTY FREE:

     Vivo Harmony™ is a brand  committed to animal welfare. We do not engage in animal testing throughout the process of developing or manufacturing our products, and we prohibit any third-party involvement in such practices with our products. Furthermore, we provide vegan options that are entirely free from animal-derived ingredients, including substances such as honey, beeswax, lanolin, collagen, albumen, carmine, cholesterol, and gelatin.

    PLANT BASED

    Our formulation  is plant-based or  from plant-derived ingredients.

    BOTANICAL COMPONENTS Our botanical ingredients are sourced directly from plants and undergo minimal processing to maintain their natural integrity.

    PLANT-ORIGINATED ELEMENTS We use plant-derived ingredients, which originate from plants and can be tailored to enhance performance while staying true to their natural origins.
